Do you, as a writer, think it would be an interesting challenge to spend
time creating a character that everyone loves and then have that same
person do things, somewhat consistent with his/her past, so that everyone
would hate him/her by the end of the series?

Already did it.

Took Londo, did that to him.  But in such a way that you *felt* for him
and wanted him to steer away from the dark.

Did the same in the opposite direction with G'Kar.

Will do it a couple more times before I'm through.
