Several times I've been struck by the similarity between PPG charges
and asthma inhaler charges. Right size, right shape, right color even
if you soak the little paper wrapper off.
So where do you get them? Are there common household items doing
double duty as props on B5?

Larry-
As you probably know, the prop business is populated with extraordinary
scavengers that can literally make a silk purse from a sow's.....no,
wait, that's wardrobe. Well, you get the picture.
We have PPG's cast in resin, "Hero" PPG's that are machined and "Stunt"
PPG's that are rubber. The original caps are metal, origin unknown.
Could well be inhaler cartidges, as the propfolks who built them
wouldn't have any hesitation, if they fit the handle!
I will call and try to find out, though.

Follow on to the PPG cap composition conversation-
The Hero versions have machined aluminum caps, that have a nice positive
"snap" when they go in. The cast resin and cast rubber versions are
cast integral to the gun.
BTW, I always liked that solder sucker. It is a constant reminder of
what looks ordinary to one looks really exotic to others. I guess it's
a great inside joke to all of us who sat up late at night working on our
Altair 8800's with the very same tools!

Someone told me that the "this is wrong tool" that Zathras
puts down (WWEII) was some form of quick-loader for pistols. If not,
what was it?
BTW, you guy's are doing a great job. Keep it up and welcome
to RASTB.

Rodent-
The Zathras tool is not a speed loader, but a wrench of some sort.
There is this wonderful electronic surplus store down the street from
the stage, and the place is swarming with art directors from all over
the basin. Our folks also frequent this place, and came back one day
with a box marked "interesting shapes $10". At any other place in the
world, this would be a box of recyclables at best or a box of garbage at
worst. In Hollywood, however........ it is a box of tools for Zathras!
