Spoiler space provided for anyone who is not "up to date" on Garibaldi's
situation.

My question is in regards to the scenes in which Mr. Garibaldi is
interrogated in a small cell, much like an oubliette. You know, the
ones shot in black&white, where he is pacing and ranting.
We saw some scenes like these early on in Season 4, which were repeated
a few times, as flashbacks. Then, later down the line, we saw some more
of them, with less ranting and more interrogation. Obviously, we have
yet to see the full range of experience that Garibaldi had on his little
vacation.
I am wondering...did you shoot ALL the scenes at one time, and plan to
edit them into approproate episodes as necessary, or do you go back into
the oubliette set to shoot new stuff each time it is needed? If the
former is the case, how do you avoid plot spoilers leaking out by the
personnell involved in the shoot? If the latter is the case, do you
worry about "appearance changes"...say, if Jerry should grow his hair
longer than the style he wore in the cell, or maybe if were to get a
black eye somehow, or a broken arm (wait...that's been done :) ?
It would seem to me that all necessary "future use" scenes would be shot
at one time, thereby saving time and money (no need to rebuild, light,
block, etc) and avoid any visual gaffes that might crop up if the shoot
is done later on. That, of course, would mean you would have to shoot
stuff that could reveal plotlines you do not wish to reveal. It seems
to be an interesting paradox. How do you deal with it?

Somtimes, yeah, we'll gang together shots in one location that will spill
across several episodes, and definitely did that in Garibaldi's case. I
just figure out what's coming, and write those specific additional scenes
prior to the rest of the scripts.
