<< You should've come up and said hello, I didn't know you were there. >>

I did say say hello, while you were signing my stuff on Sat and Sun (I
was the guy in the CBLDF shirt that said "Most holy wants you to just say no to
censorship" and a B5 hat if that helps you remember any, it looked like you
were reading when I was there) and when you were buying your Superman hat, I
just didn't hang around too long afterward. I didn't want to hold up the line,
it was long enough as it was.
I started out at the end of the line both times and somehow it wound up
that alot more people were behind me than I had thought. Besides, I can talk to
you all I want here; which is more than most of the people there could do, from
what I gathered from talking with them.

<<okay, I blush. Easily. It's *really* embarrassing. (Some women tell me
it's cute, which is even MORE embarrassing.)>>
Yeah, I get that too. Someone comes up and tells me I have beutiful or
pretty blue eyes, then they get to say "Awww, look he's blushing." Embarrasing
is a *very* good word for that, self-perpetuating would be another.

<< And yeah, Narns are marsupial, but since Andreas keeps referring to himself
otherwise, I used it.>>
OK, that and how he's not up on his biology explains it. Didn't he see
Jurassic Park? Or did that go over his head as well? <G>

<< And the commune story...is WAY too long to tell.>>
Aw, come on; tell us a story, Joooooe. <g>

May the Light shine forever,
Rich

"Aw, come on; tell us a story, Joooooe. <g>"

What the heck do you think I've been *doing* these last 4 years?

Fm: BRENT BARRETT

Joe,

Hey, after hearing about the fifty rituals of Minbari bonding, I
decided to count up the number of rituals we humans have before that
same event. It turns out that we aren't that far behind them in this
aspect . . .

The Thirty Someodd Rituals of (semi-)Permanent Human Bonding

1. First Date
(mandatory, unless future bride is a blood relative)
2. Second Date
    (hey, it's important!)
3. First Kiss
(well, it was a ritual for me)
4. Meeting the Family
(best done before the "Engagement" ritual)
5. "Going Steady"
(or whatever the kids are calling it these days)
6. First Base
(see Cecelia for a description of the bases)
7. Second Base
(see Cecelia for a description of the bases)
8. Third Base
(see Cecelia for a description of the bases)
9. Home Plate
(see Cecelia for a description of the bases)

(All of the above bases may be combined in one ritual and may
take place nearly anywhere in this list.)

10. Ring Buying Ritual
(sometimes comes after "Engagement" ritual, but it's more costly
    that way)
11. Engagement
(the process often comes to a halt here)
12. Blood Test
(a fingerprint check with the FBI ain't a bad idea either)
13. Marriage License
(gives the groom the false impression that it gets cheaper after
    the Ring Buying Ritual)
14. Picking Out The Invitations
(you never knew there were so many different types of paper in the
    world)
15. Picking Out The Color Scheme
(hint: it's a bad idea to pick your favorite team's colors, guys)
16. Picking Out Flowers
    (sometimes known as "The Sneezing")
17. Picking Out The Cake
(you never knew baked goods could cost so much)
18. Deciding on Wedding Location
(guys: best to let her pick this one. Just shut up and nod. And
    get used to it.)
19. Deciding on Best Man and Ushers
(now it's time for him to find out which of his friends she doesn't
    really like)
20. Deciding on Maid of Honor and Bride's Maids
(now it's time for her to find out which of her friends she needs to
    keep away from you)
21. Deciding on Guest List
(otherwise known as "who has the greatest wedding gift potential?")
22. Mailing out Invitations
(the "Stuff, Lick and Press" ritual)
23. Deciding on a Place to Live
    (unless shacking up with parents)

(Hey, these last nine may not seem like rituals to you ladies, but
to us guys, they're sheer hell.)

24. Changing last name of bride
(optional -- lots of rituals here)
25. Opening joint bank account(s)
(optional -- if skipped, move to "Divorce" ritual right after
    "Wedding")
26. Living Together
(may take place after "Wedding" ritual, if taking the "Traditional"
    path)
27. Rehearsal
    (next to last chance)
28. Rehearsal Dinner
    (no comment)
29. Wedding
    (last chance)
30. Honeymoon
    (Woo hoo!)
31. Opening Wedding Gifts
(how many blenders does a new couple need?)
32. Returning Wedding Gifts
(how many blenders does a new couple need?)
33. The Unpacking
(otherwise known as the "That's NOT Going In My Living Room" ritual)

There are likely more that I've forgotten, but you get the drift, I'm
sure.

You have far too much time on your hands.

No, the tapes are not coming out shortly, the dealer is mistaken.
