Thanks...yeah, wrote two other books, OtherSyde (novel) and an anthology,
Tales from the New Twilight Zone, as well as short stories appearing in
Pulphouse, Amazing Stories, Midnight Grafitti, Shadows 6, and a brand new (and
rather long) story coming out next Spring in the Death Out West anthology
edited by Martin Harry Greenberg (mystery/crime stories), called "We Killed
Them in the Ratings."

>> The original ST won two years running, and just before that, TZ won >>
three years running. In the 30 years or so since the original ST, no other >>
show has gotten 2 in a row, correct.
The Twilight Zone won the first three Hugos for Dramatic Presentation that were
presented at the Worldcons in 1960, 1961 and 1962.
An interesting point is that in 1963, there was No Award for Dramatic
Presentation!
There was no Dramatic Presentation Award given in 1964, 1965 and 1966, but
there was an award for Special Drama given at the 1965 Worldcon to the movie
Dr. Strangelove.
The Hugo rules were also changed so that only episodes of television series
would be eligible and not the entire season of shows, such as when TZ won.
The 1967 Hugo for Dramatic Presentation was given to the Star Trek episode "The
Menagerie".
The 1968 Hugo for Dramatic Presentation was given to the "The City on the Edge
of Forever" by Harlan Ellison, a Star Trek Episode. (Please note that these are
the official listings of the awards.)
After that, there was an award given in every year except 1971 and 1977, with
the 1970 award going to "News coverage of Apollo XI", all being movies of
different varieties until 1993, when the "Inner Light", a ST:TNG episode won.
In 1995, "All Good Things", also a ST:TNG episode won.
Since then, it's been Babylon 5 episodes.
B5 has reached a rare point with the SF fannish community with its two wins in
a row. If you look at the impact that The Twilight Zone and Star Trek have had
on the world in general, Babylon 5 is in exceptional company. Only time will
tell if B5 will have the same sort of a long lasting impression.
I've said it before, but it's worth saying again: Congratulations, Joe, for
creating one of the reasons to watch television, for an intelligently crafted
show, that while not perfect, is much better than the pablum fed to us by most
of the television executives.
May B5 continue to collect all the awards and kudos it so richly deserves, and
here's hope for that third straight Hugo next year.

Del Rey has signed a deal with WB to do the B5 novels henceforth, and as
part of that will be doing a series of three, 3-book arcs (for a total of 9 in
addition to stand-alone B5 novels) which will feature an overall story that
I'll assign to the writers involved. The goal is to keep them within canon,
but allow the writers some degree of freedom, and to fill in some of the
corners in the B5 universe. For instance, one 3-book arc may be the story of
the fall of Centauri Prime; another might be the history of the Psi Corps and
what made Bester what he is; and the third set strongly on the B5 station
itself.
These stories are still being determined, natch, so this ain't final.
