JMS,

I know that WB's beancounters are still trying to figure out if B5 DVDs
are a good business risk at all. Presuming that they "get religion" and
release them, I was daydreaming about what the ideal B5 DVD would look
like. It lead me to want to ask you about some features I know that I'd
pay extra for... because the features would need your participation.
Granted, this is most likely all moot... but considering the recent
discussion about first draft material, etc., I wonder what your feelings
about the features might be. So: If WB asked, would you participate in:

* a "producer's commentary" track on the episodes? Heck, you could record
your USENET posts appropriately and match them up to the action... One of
the things I love about DVD is being able to hear an interesting,
informative commentary by the creators. The commentaries for "Blair
Witch" and "Ghostbusters" come to mind as being both informative and
entertaining.

* a "re-rendered special edition widescreen" where the CGI shots only
would be redone for anamorphic widescreen? (I don't mean "improving" the
EFX a la Star Wars -- I mean re-rendering with the original data [if
available] but reformatted for 16x9, similar to what Pixar did for the
fullscreen "A Bug's Life.")

I'm also curious to know if there's any feature you'd put on the DVDs, if
it were all up to you.

Thanks!

I'd be only thrilled to do something along these lines.
