JMS, the Space channel in Canada has started airing a promo short for
Crusade (premiering June 19). Do they give you copies of this stuff?
Maybe I'll see if I can catch it on tape.

> I didn't mean to say that I thought JMS ripped off Lucas.

I understand that, but it's just a sensitive spot. And of course, now
B5 is established enough that we're starting to see stuff like "X
ripped off JMS" which is every bit as annoying.

I'm not talking about the apparent copying of story lines which has
been discussed here - that's a different issue. But there are people
around who seem to be totally unaware that SF has a long history
outside of movies and TV, and that many things in these new media first
showed up in print *decades* ago in print SF... and that's without even
getting into the things drawn from mythology and classic literature.

> And then I somehow thought it wasn't in SW, and then found out AGAIN
> that it was. Confusion runs rampant!

Yeah, I remembered it from SW too, and it's very easy to get confused
with all these different universes... <g>

What's interesting is that there was an apparent incident
reported in the news lately where some Star Trek fans showed up en
masse to picket and pick a fight with a line of Star Wars fans waiting
to get into a screening of TPW because they didn't like the publicity
SW was getting.

                                                                  jms
