Given what seem to be a number of problems I'm changing my mind about
wanting w/s DVDs and instead hoping for regular 4:3. At least then we
won't start losing heads/chins, losing cgi and gaining people sitting at
the edge having a cup of tea.

Is what's shown on the edges really worth the problems it has all
caused. Can anyone give any instances of something valuable being seen
or where the visual impact of the scene was significantly enhanced.

You don't lose *anything* if the image is true widescreen; you *add* because
you're getting more on the side. If the process is done right, you get
everything you saw in the regular version plus extra stuff at the ends.

This is as near as I can tell an aberration, and not the true widescreen.
