As I read your recent posting flaming a newbie for posting story ideas, and
complaining (again) about the ridiculous volume of personal email that could
and should be dealt with elsewhere, I worried. Though you've scaled back a
lot lately, I'd really hate to think we'd lose you altogether.

Over the years, I've sent you either one or two personal messages. I thought
the content was of a personal enough nature to justify it. I'm sorry if I
added to the burden. It was an immense pleasure to get to speak with you at
a gathering when "Messages From Earth" aired. I also sent you a duck, and
have been keeping my eyes peeled for the Narn Bat Squad ever since.

What I really want to thank you for is letting us all in on the process of
writing and selling a show, getting it produced and on the air, and all the
minute details along the way. There is much that I understand now that I did
not understand before, and would not except for you. I'm not only much more
educated, but much more discerning as a result.

You have always been here. Thank you. I hope that you will always be here.

Be assured, there's nothing wrong with contact as long as it's appropriate.
You acted appropriately.
