What happened to MZB? What novel was lost?

I had never heard about that. I of course have heard about singers being
sued all the time over songs......

Ashamed of my ignorance........

She wrote an entire novel that she had to scuttle because a fan had come up
with the same idea, wrote up something on it, and there was a threat of lawsuit
since MZB had presumably had access to it.

So the publisher dropped the novel rather than face the possibility of action,
even though in the long run she probably would've prevailed.
