I didn't read Sins Past and don't really have anything against JMS, but why do
we see writers deflect criticism in this manner. "I've written this and this
and this..."
Surely he realizes we don't give a shit? Wouldn't a better tactic be
responding with a self parody ("No, i'm going to make Franklin the son of the
Impossible Man!") or just ignoring it. This just makes him look pompous and
feeds the fire.

Because if I did that -- as I've done elsewhere -- comes the accusation that
I'm not taking the criticisms seriously enough, insulting those who raised
them, and thus acting pompous and feeding the fire.
Happened right here, just recently.
