JMS,

This was written in the Claudia Christian e-mail newsletter:

"For those of you who were interested in the Babylon 5 novel, it will
not be published. JMS squashed the release of the book and that's all
I know."

I'm just hoping to get your side of the story on this.

Thanks.

P.S. Can't wait for the new Bab 5 DVD!

One of four possible explanations for this is that he didn't, but Mongoose
told her that he did...

I saw that same sentence on a Yahoo list earlier in the week and asked for the
source. Not surprisingly, I didn't get a response.

In fairness to Mongoose and Matthew Sprange, his announcement didn't mention
either WB or JMS or anybody else. What he said to any of the writers is
anybody's guess.

If that's coming from a Claudia newsletter I'd be inclined to think that
somebody's busy drumming up 'buzz' for some memoir she's been writing. She
mentioned it in the B5 podcast last year and she's reportedly looking for fan
artwork to include in it.

Right, which is why I said it was only one of four possible explanations:

1) JMS didn't "squash" her novel, but someone (Mongoose, her agent, the fan
fiction fairy) told her he did;

2) JMS didn't "squash" her novel, and no one told her that he did (i.e. she's
just making up stories);

3) JMS did "squash" her novel, and someone (Mongoose, her agent, the fan
fiction fairy) told her he did;

4) JMS did "squash" her novel, but no one tole her that he did (so she made
up a story).

Nobody went out of their way to squash, squish or smush Claudia's
book. None of the Mongoose B5 novels are going ahead, hers or anybody
else's. There's nothing more to it than that.
