Joe,

That is an eclectic list... Does Meatloaf listen better than he watches?
(Yeah, I guess he might!) Greg and I both love KODO, and Enya. Others are not
currently in our collection... I'd say you have good taste in music, but then,
there's considerable overlap with my own. (talk about faint praise <giggle>)

Were you aware that the studio address and phone numbers are now available to
lots of fans? At least those who compulsively buy books about the show...

That information was bound to get out sooner or later. It's okay. We
have Narns working security.

Yeah, Meatloaf definitely "listens better than he watches," though in
truth he's lost a LOT of weight lately, and looks 100% better than in past
years. Most of his songs (even though written often with or by others) tell
stories, they have a lot of heart to them, they're sometimes very funny, and
there's a tremendous, enviable energy in them. You get the sense that he
undrstands the only way to tell a story sometimes is to put the pedal to the
floor and go flat out for the abyss, hoping to come out alive on the other
side. I commend to you his two latest albums, Bat Out of Hell II and Welcome
to the Neighborhood. There's some really nifty stuff there.

I'm not quite sure how Joe will answer this, but if you read the Ed Wasser
Newsletter, he says that the chrystal was something he picked up in an antique
shop, he thought it would be cool to wear for his part, and had to pursuade Joe
to let him use it on the show. Taking these things into consideration, the
chrystal is probably nothing more than a chrystal.

Phil,

<There are likely sophisticated sensors that can detect any *toxin* in
food. A two part poison, each art non toxic on its own could avoid detection..

We can use mass spectrometers to determine the molecular makeup of
something NOW. You can't tell me that a race as advanced as the Centauri won't
be able to determine the molecular makeup of whatever they want. The only
constraint would be determining if something is *toxic* or not by checking
against a list of known toxins. I would imagine that this database would
contain an entry for both parts of this known poison. The only way this
wouldn't be so would be if Londo had this made up all on his own and hasn't
shared it with anyone. I would have to admit that this IS a possibility.

I caught Harlan being credited. I was just wondering if the character was a
Harlan reference or if Joe was just being silly.

Dear Sir,

After seeing Severed Dreams, I am panting for the "rest of the story."

I wonder if you will be convering the economics of what has happened to B5? Who
is paying those dock workers and in what?

I could see volumes of books being written if you had chosen to tell this story
in another manner. Of course, I might not then like the show having formed
preconcieved ideas about the characters and events. Perhaps you may yet write
thos volumes and include all those tidbits left on the cutting room floor or
topics like what happened when the doctor learned his father had died? What
about appendixes that discuss the histories of all the known races or the
previous wars with the dark?
I am sure that you would find the audience.
Anyway, can't wait for this week's episode.

I'm fine. A little harried, tired and generally staggered these days,
but fine. Spent the day at the hospital with Harlan today, who's doing MUCH
better, walking around, cracking jokes...a vast improvement.

I'm still hip-deep in post production, and laying stuff out for next year
in hopes of renewal...but basically fine.

                                                                       jms

Or breath, a bit in a candle etc.

I love the Centari. Vir is an explosion of contradictions. Meek yet bold. I
loved the encounter with Morden with the little wave routine, I hurt myself.
They seem to have the flavor or Renaissance Italians (with a bit of Austria
thrown in).

Londo is a man caught in a bad situation. Yet he shows the strength to not lose
control. In the end, who would deserve the most credit for stopping the shadows
Kosh or Londo. While Londo opened the door his ability to regain control should
be a huge factor in the chess game of the war. I was sure that the Centari were
opening up a multi-front war. Yet this adjustment that Londo has just forced
could upset Shadow plans more than anyone could imagine.

I wish I could think of a figure in history to compare him to. Caught early in
a war on the wrong side, not knowing the peril his nation (world) would face as
a reult of the deals.

Yes, Londo is a very sharp, cunning character. He does what he does for
sheer patriotism, to serve his people. *Whatever* that may entail. And Vir
gets whipsawed a lot...he's a great character, with a wide range of
characteristics I can play with, from comic to tragic.

                                                                        jms

I could've *sworn* there was a line there about the Narn recovering; I'm
going to have to check this. I hope I didn't accidentally cut it for time
while doing something else. (It was a LONG editing session.)

I figured the Narns were there to discuss the fates of their families
back home, but yeah, to a certain degree it was there as a great end for the
teaser.
