Joe:
I know you might not know at this point, but I have a schedule
question.
I was checking the calendar. With 13 new episodes left in the
season after "Point", I can't see how Warners will fit them in
again and it's beginning to make me nervous. Even if we saw all
new eps from now till the end of the season, with no reruns, that
would take us up to the last week of May (when *normal* networks
show their big season finales).
If they toss in a couple of stretches of reruns in, we're going
to have the same situation as last year, where they'd have to show
the last 4-5 in the summertime. Would Warners do that? I can't
see any alternative (the math just doesn't work, and no,
mathematics not Barbara's skill either). Or are you afraid
they'll do the same thing they did to us (and you) last year?

I'm as much in the dark as anyone else just now. I'm hoping for the

> Don't know what this refers to.
If you don't mind, could you clarify the role of telepaths in the
EA military? I was under the impression ("Eyes" maybe?) that
telepaths were not allowed in the military per se, although they
could be loaned out from the Psi Corps if necessary. And
certainly CDR Ivanova lives in perpetual fear that she'll be found
out and kicked out - or is her sin in the eyes of EA more in
*lying* about her telepathy than in having it? (Which brings to
mind something else - where do the people who are "not even a P-1"
end up? File clerks for the Psi Corps?)
Tom
BTW, in Chicago "Passing Through Gethsemane" is being rerun
Thursday. That is a *great* episode; the best thing I've seen on
television in a long while. I guess Babylon 5 is not some sort of
Deep Space Franchise; it's *about* something! <g>

The military uses telepaths on a loan-out or special intelligence
basis, rather than within the core units of soldiers and officers.

Joe,
I was poking around The Lurker's Guide, and I noticed something
you said about "Coming of Shadows." Someone asked about the
humans and Minbari in the Centauri throne room, and you answered
that they were there to negotiate the use of a planet at the edge
of Centauri space.
Would that happen to be the same planet the Rangers were chased
off of in "Matters of Honor"?

Joe,
Just started watching season one again (finally ran down a
source) and I have a couple of *old* questions.
When the soulhunter said "You would do such a thing?" to Delenn
when he peeked into her soul, was he referring to the change she
made in Chrysalis or *something else*?
In Legacies, Sinclair is very decent to Neroon when Neroon
apologizes to him, much more pleasent than he needed to be.
Secondly, he records a message in praise of Brammer *as an EA
officer*. Neroon is quite grateful and a relationship seems to be
born. I know Neroon detests Delenn, but is he likely more friendly
to Ambassador Sinclair?
Next, about Clark's Law,
May I assume that you approved having G'Kar butcher a zillion
people (was 10 billion a misprint?) in the Prologue? If so, should
we have *any* sympathy *at all* for the Narn (I now don't) and
will you bring up something in the show to grey them up?
Thx
Phil^^^^ FREE MARS!

You'll hear the soul hunter's line again this season, in a
flashback, that may illuminate this; and there's more about Neroon as
well this year. As for G'Kar...people do things in war they can always
justify.

DH just showed me TV Times announcement of Upcoming
release of B5 tapes in Australia. (He had to say Stop screaming -
I was so excited.)
Do you know how many will be released and at what
intervals? I didn't get into B5 at the start but managed to hire
the Introduction tape. I've been getting by on forum news and WWW.
(Not much available in magazines here).
I shall end up bankrupt this year. Voy 2-10 have just
been released. I am getting TOS from Time-Life and DS9 should be
releasing more soon and now BABYLON 5! We've agreed I get B5, he
get VOY.
All of a sudden Australia doesn't seem so many light
years away any more!
Laine, Sydney, Australia.
P.S. I take it so much for granted everyone knows B5 is the best
Science Fiction Show of today that I forgot to say it - THANK YOU!
I'm so relieved not all TV people believe Bay Watch and Melrose
Place clones are all the audience wants.

I actually don't know the release situation vis a vis the
Australia tapes; what happens in international distribution is always a
surprise to me, and frankly this is the first time I've heard of it.
I'll try to find out, though. And thanks, for the words, and the news.

As y'all know, next week the latest batch of new episodes
begins to air. The first one up, "Voices of Authority," is an absolute
hoot; if you've been looking to bring in other viewers, that's a good
one to start them with, because it sets up a lot of what's going to
happen in this episode, it has a lot of background, and it's a lot of
fun.
The next two are somewhat more straightforward, stand-alones
(to some extent; there's some arc stuff there, however, which becomes
more important later). Then the last two in this batch represent some
of the best work we've ever done, "Messages From Earth" and "Point of
No Return." They follow directly on the footsteps of "Voices," so
those three together would be great for new viewers.
Second, today is Michael O'Hare's first day of shooting here on
the B5 stages for the two-parter, featuring his return to the station
from Minbar, and propels him into the center of attention for most of
the two parts. Everyone's having a great time so far, he and Bruce have
been hanging out a lot, and the episode should be a real toad-strangler
when it's finished.

about?)

(Toad-strangling, in this context, would be a good
thing--right?)
I have a friend who wants to watch B5 and his sense of
humor is more warped than even mine is, so I'll spread the word.
I would assume Boxleitner and O'Hare have much to talk
about, considering they both filled the same role.
("What do you think of these new uniforms?" "You guys
have it too easy--in the pilot, we..." It'd be like war stories,
but only they could understand them.)
After those...six (I count six, but I'm failing Algebra),
are we back to repeats?

I have a couple of questions:
1. I have recently heard a rumor that P.T.E.N. is unable to
compete with WB and UPN and is about to go under. Can anyone
confirm or deny this runor? Does anyone know how this rumored
demise will effect Bablon - 5 (and Kung-Fu: The Legend Continues)?
There are more than a couple of people in the Dayton Ohio area
that heard this rumor and we are worried.
2. Ever since "M.O.H." I have been trying to locate a picture of
the White Star. Does anyone have knowledge of an existing still?
I have a nice shot on tape, but it is difficult to care a VCR tape
around. A computer disk is much simpler to handle. (And you
don't have to search for the exact time mark.)
Thank you in advance for any assistance rendered.

PTEN is being restructured; if it should cease to be, WB
domestic syndication will take over all shows like B5 and Kung Fu.
I'll try to put up a white star gif soonish...there may be one
here now.
