I have just seen "Intersections in Real Time" and it left me puzzled.

When I was in 9th grade, I had to read "1984" by George Orwell and has
become a favorite of mine along with "Alas, Babylon" which I also read
that year. The sequences involving the interrogations and the
Interrogater telling Sheridan what the political version of truth was, to
Clark and the Psi Corps, sounds manufactored. This reminds me of Big
Brother in "1984". As far as I can recall, in the novel, when the
man(Sorry, can't remember his name. Book is still packed awayafter
moving) is interrogated, he is told the versions of truth according to Big
Brother, not the actual version. In this case, is Clark Big Brother?
Also, with "Room 17". In "1984", Room 101 was where the man was sent to
face his biggest fear. Using that fear, Big Brother was able to conquer
him. Before going to Room 101, like in "Intersections", it was a place to
fear the unknown. Was Room 17 in the episode inspired by Room 101 in
"1984"? Did the novel have some play into what this episode was to be
like?

No, it really wasn't patterned after 1984, or the Prisoner, or any real
SF. It was drawn heavily from what goes on in interrogation rooms holding
political prisoners in many Latin American and other countries.

Interestingly, I got a note from a young woman who couldn't watch the
episode, in part because it was too close to home -- her father was a
political prisoner in Brazil and underwent very much this sort of thing --
but out of anger at fellow fans who figured it was just a Prisoner homage
or 1984 or something else...not seeing that this is *real* and happens
every day in the real world.
