Hi Joe.

  A couple of years ago, I was on Compuserve and alerted you to some
non-licensed items I'd seen at a local 'con, which you promptly released
the legal dept (after sensory-depriving them and waving raw meat in
their faces for weeks, of course), and I felt that as a duitiful fan,
I'd done my part to protect a show I admire. 

  Now, I'm in a quandry.  I've been able to choose an account name for
my email address..... and "Valen" is available....  I'd be honored to be
able to choose this as a name.  Unfortunately, I don't want to infringe
upon you and yours...  besides...  bloodthirsty, rabid lawyers chewing
through my front door doesn't appeal to me.  <grin>

  What is your position on this?  Would you mind if I chose "Valen" as
my email address?  It was chosen out of respect and fondness for
something that I admire, so I want to make sure I continue to to respect
your creation and your rights, by asking before I commit potential
copyright infringement.

I think Valen is a fine idea for a name...others have done similar, so don't
fret it.
