Joe,

Back in November the Hollywood Reporter quoted you as saying that you
would be writing a book on Christine Collins. It reported that since
you had over 6,000 pages of historical information there was material
that you could not include in Changeling and hope to include a lot of
this in your book on Christine Collins. At that time, the Hollywood
Reporter quoted you as saying that you expected to complete your book
by the end of February 2009.

Considering your incredible work load, especially in light of having
to rewrite the Forbidden Planet script, and the significant amount of
information on Christine Collins that the LA Times published in the
Daily Mirror, is your Christine Collins still in work and viable? If
you are still pursuing this book, what is your current expected date
to complete this book and when would you expect it to be published?

Since Universal published your Changeling screenplay on their "For
Your Consideration" website in order to promote your screenplay for
best original screenplay do you still retain publication rights for
the screenplay? I told Jan and Captain Jaclyn the night of the BAFTA
awards that I have permission from my wife to buy the annotated
version of your Changeling screenplay when it becomes available. It
would be great for you to include you account of your experiences on
the Changeling set, at Cannes, at the BAFTA award, during interviews
and other venues.

Sincerely,

Dan Dassow

I still retain the novel rights, but have fallen behind on the writing
of it due to other, more crucial deadlines.
