I was surfing around and found this in the 'Civic Theatre of Greater
Lafayette blog:

SNOW WHITE
By J. Michael Straczynski
Directed by Missy Freels
Feb. 26-28

This humorous take on a classic tale includes a bumbling prince, a
very involved mirror and not just one, but three attempts on Snow
White's life. Add a lot of dwarfs and a happily-ever-after ending and
you have a great play for the ages.

I'm sure all of us would like to see or read that. Any chance of that
happening?

Now, JMS...It's a darned good play. Personally, I'd *love* to see it performed.

I got mine signed at the Hawthorne High School Comic Con in NJ which JMS had
volunteered to come to at his own expense in order to help raise funds for the
Art Dept. IIRC, Wendy, Amy (Aisling at the time) and I were the first ones in
line (I'm feeling like I'm forgetting somebody, though...Iva manybe? Amy?
Help?). Amy was in front of me and she had the Snow White play among her items
and poor JMS got a pained look on his face but signed it gamely. When it was my
turn, I also had the play and got kind of a pleading look from him. I wonder how
many more of them he saw that day.

That was one great little con with several of us newsgroupies meeting for the
first time. The con made plenty of money that day from admissions, JMS's
first-ever fee ($1) per autograph, chances for cool prizes and a large donation
from JMS himself.

So, JMS...sorry if it makes you squirm but it's a favorite memento of a really
nice day. And it really is a good play!

Caryn was there, too. And Iva, and both Wendys (one from NJ, one from PA).
Oh, and Mickey! Mickey (Michael) from upstate New York. He hasn't been
around in awhile...

But, yeah -- I was first in line. Of course. <g>

If you want to see some of the priceless, pained expressions from poor JMS
that day, photos are here:

It _was_ a nice day, despite the prodigious schlep up into Jersey.

My goal has always been to go gray *before* I go bald! It's kind of
neck and neck right now.

I'm just jealous of my dad--he's still got a full head of hair (totally
gray, but still has it). Darn those matrilineal genes...

I used to tell guys who buzz-cut their hair bald that if they really
want to look that way, just do what I did: wait a while.

BTW, and not to make a deal out of this, but several folks have
inquired based on things mentioned in wiki entries and the like...and
normally I wouldn't even mention (and haven't mentioned) this sort of
thing online because I'm kind of big on the whole privacy thing, but
there comes a point when not mentioning something becomes noticeable.
Anyway...to those who have asked or feathered around the issue, yes, I
am divorced. The process was long, but very, very amiable and all
parties are actually happier and better friends now than before.

No long threads please, again to respect the privacy of all involved,
I just wanted to clear the air a bit.
